I had a working setup some time ago.
You have to create a DSN, see for example
http://www.xtelsio.com/hlp/en/client/and/windows_odbc-manager, and then you can access the
mdbs

Yes, ODBC support has been enabled in all releases and snapshots
since gretl 1.7.5. All the wisdom we have to offer on this topic
is in Appendix B of the Gretl User's Guide. This includes sample
scripts.
