Hello All,
More Gretl problems..... I installed X11 successfully on my Mac Tiger
10.4.8. I opened a terminal window, cd to Gretl_Folder/bin and type
./gretl.sh but I get the complaint:
(gretl_x11:386): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display:
users-computer://Applications/Gretl_Folder/bin Andy$
Any suggestions on what to do?
Best wishes,
Andrew

A student here has a mac which showed the same symptoms. Turned out he didn't
have X11 installed, either; I guess a standard installation of OSX doesn't
include X11. After installing X11, gretl runs, but not via the "gretl" file in
the main gretl folder. That just hangs; it doesn't crash, it just stays there
doing nothing visible and has to be killed by hand. OTOH, opening a shell
("Terminal" in OSX parlance) and running the "gretl.sh" script from
the bin
directory, as per your previous attempt, works ok.
