Here are two more cents on the recent file list issue.
Today I installed the current snapshot ( 02/17/2006) on Windows XP. I
have installed it over a previous snapshot version (can't remember
which one, sorry), i.e. I did not uninstall the version that was
already present on my PC. After launching the new version for the
first time, there was a recent file list. It was probably the list
from the previous versions. Next I opened several datasets and did
some computations on them. These newly opened datasets were appearing
progressively in the recent file list. Then I closed gretl and started
the program again. After this restart, I noticed that the most recent
used files did not appear in the recent file list.
Next, I proceeded to a clean install of the newest snapshot version:
uninstalling gretl using the uninstaller and then removing the
remaining directory structure (c:\userdata\) manually. Now, the first
time I started gretl, the recent file list was empty. During a
session, this list was populated correctly. However, when closing
gretl and restarting it, the list was empty again.
Please let me know if the description was not clear and/or if you want
some further investigations on this (minor) issue.
Best wishes,
jean
