[Gretl-users] deleting variables

Hi all, I've got a script that generates a bunch of auxiliary series that I don't want to keep in the dataset, so I put "delete thislist thatlist (etc.)" as the last line in the script. When I run it, I get a message (in the output) saying no series were deleted. When I try to delete them manually, I get an error saying "Cannot delete (whatever): variable is in use." However if I reload the dataset, the extra series are gone, so they're being deleted somehow. Thoughts welcome... PS
