Thanks for your effort. I just tested the CVS (for windows 2k),
I got an message: "Document validated successfully against DTD." After
I downloaded this (slightly) modified package from the server (in
another UBUNTU 8.04 computer), it looks working great!

I believe this issue is now fixed in CVS: it should now be
possible to upload function packages containing any characters you
like -- provided they are correctly encoded in UTF-8, but gretl
should take care of that. This took some changes on the server
side as well as in gretl itself.
I've done some basic tests, but I'd encourage others to test too,
and let me know if there are any remaining problems.
