[Gretl-users] Downloading Content from Server and Offline Update

Dear Gretl Developers, Today when we update Gretl for Mac OS all the server functions, example data, and databases are deleted. So every time I update the program need to re-download these files on the server. I don't have this problem on my Windows based PC. I think this is because the default directory in Mac OS/X is inside the Gretl application ("/Applications/*Gretl.app* /Contents/Resources/share/gretl/"). My first suggestion: What do you think about moving functions, example data, and databases to the *.gretl* directory? My second problem (which generates my second suggestion): Here at my work the internet access requires secure proxy (with password), so I can't access server's contents (such as functions and databases). My second suggestion: Make offline installation of these contents available (so I can download them using the internet browser and made an offline installation).
