Maybe we should clarify the definition of a "crash". Sometimes a seeming
freeze looks like a crash.
True, but in this case Fred gave us the Apple report, including
Exception Type: EXC_CRASH (SIGABRT)
and
Application Specific Information: detected buffer overflow
I'm thinking this _might_ be specific to running the script in the
GUI, but I haven't been able to reproduce it on Linux.
