All I can say Allin: it's PERFECT!
Glad you like it! Actually I'm working a bit more on the design of
the lags dialog (how it relates to the main model dialog).
Thanks also for suggestions 1 to 3, which I will consider.
4. In VAR roots plot output: it is good have numerical values of
the roots in this plot but when some root is on or outside the
circle you can't see root values because plot window can't be
extended. But I see that youu put a new optin Number value which
is currently disabled. Is this optin the solution for the previous
mentioned problem?
Yes, it is the solution. What exactly do you mean when you say it's
"disabled"? I haven't tested the Windows version in particular but
it works fine here on Linux.
5. VAR module: include a constant check box status is remembered
by Gretl but include a trend is allways unchecked when
re-estimateing VAR. It is a big possibility to forget to re-check
this option.
"Include a constant" is not actually remembered, it's just the
default. If you uncheck it for one VAR, you'll have to uncheck it
again for the next. "Include a trend" is not the default, so it's
always off until checked. It would be easy enough to remember the
setting, but I wonder if that's really a good idea. It seems to me
that a sloppy user is just as likely
(a) to omit a trend by mistake, somehow assuming that gretl would
add it since the box was checked for a previous VAR, as
(b) to include a trend by mistake, failing to notice that the trend
box had remembered the choice to include a trend in a previous VAR.
