Sorry, but sourceforge CVS is in a big mess at present --
it's not just gretl. See

This problem emerged at some point yesterday. Hopefully
they'll get it fixed before long, though they don't seem to do
much on the weekend. The problem is not yet mentioned on the
SF status page, and I haven't yet had any SF response to my
support ticket, just a bunch of other developers saying "me
too" in regard to their projects.
They don't give estimates of how long it'll take before the issue is
solved ("we are aware of the problem and on it").
