Yes. Well-thought-out wish lists are useful up to a point, and I
thank people for sending them in. But we really need some more
gretlers who are in a position to make the gretl wish list
_shrink_! (That is, by implementing some of the items on the
list.)
Jack and I are currently working on more advanced cointegration
methods (and we added the Heckit estimator a few days ago). We
also have on our agenda such things as more general GARCH methods,
structural VARs, simulation of simultaneous equation systems, and
making the Kalman filter (currently used in the background for
ARMA estimation) accessible at the user level. Plus duration
models, Blundell-Bond panel estimation, ...
If you know of any graduate students with programming expertise
who might be interested in contributing to gretl, please try to
encourage them to do so!
