Hello
did anyone manage to install gretl on freebsd?
I am trying and I have some problems.
The biggest is that I can't install LAPACK on freebsd.
Is LAPACK really necessary for gretl?

I'm not sure if anyone has built gretl on freebsd yet. Yes, gretl
really does need LAPACK (it would be possible but awkward to carve
out a subset of gretl that doesn't depend on LAPACK).

That's good: I discovered someoone already ported gretl on freebsd so it can
be easily installed with a 'cd /usr/ports/misc/gretl;make install'
And it's working like a charm.

Hi guys.
I am very,very new here. I am 'thinking' of using Gretl as a
substitute to Eviews5, as I think Gretl has an application for panel
data.
However, at this moment, I can't even import my excel spreadsheet into Gretl.
Anybody from University of Auckland, New Zealand?
Help, please!

If you could email me a copy of Excel file in question, I'd be happy
