split-window editor view: pasting affects both panes

Hi,

I'm trying to use the split-window view of the script editor. When I 
paste something in the upper half, the location/view in the lower window 
half also changes -- apparently it moves close to where the upper half's 
view is.
This kind of seems to defeat the purpose of the split view. Do others 
experience this as well?
