> disappeared... I guess that means you don't have permission to write registry entries under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT. In today's snapshot I have moved the relevant entry to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE. You might see if you're able to get settings to stick now. When saving the registry entry is enabled, you should only get the "File not found" error once, the first time you try (unless you type the correct path to Rgui.exe into gretl's Preferences dialog).
