This has been discussed many times. I personally don't want the gretl GUI
to become a window manager, and I think Allin feels the same way too. By
the way, have you tried Alt-PgUp/Alt-PgDn?
Dear developers,
I think that if Gretl will be used on tablet (maybe even phones)
then the
problem on multiple window should be analyzed in depth.
Why:
- the workflow is different on a tablet versus your PC , and even if there
are some great keyboards it's kind a difficult to use shortcuts
- allowing user to have the possibility of pinning the windows would be
great (attached you can find a screenshot with Rstudio and Gretl running in
a web browser)
Possible solution:
- an approach similar to Gimp (single window as an option)

list; to port gretl to android, we'd need some pieces of software
infrastucture that are not available at the moment. And even so, it would
be a serious effort.

different tabs, logs and script one window (different tabs) etc.
This is something I wouldn't object to. Grouping script output and graphs
into one window as tabs may be a good idea. Maybe, we could even put the
console and the log in one "interaction" window as tabs, but I don't think
I'd like this very much. Ok, the help window would be another extra one,
but I guess nobody would want to have that integrated.

New subject: new in cvs
I would also love to have a way to group windows as suggested below. I use gretl as the
main software tool in a class on empirical finance and I find that the sheer amount of
windows is sometimes a hurdle for many students who are typically used to do all their
calculations in a spreadsheet.
Nevertheless, I think gretl is great to use in a classroom setting!
