I noticed the following: if I restrict the range of a sample using a
dummy variable, then in the "show status" command it shows which
criteria are used to restrict the sample.
Suppose now that I save and close the session with the restriction in
place. Then if I re-open it, the restriction remains, but the "show
status" command no longer shows the criteria that restrict the sample.
Would it be possible to salvage this information through the
close-and-reopen-session situation? (this sounds like "can we salvage
information when passing through a black hole"?)
OK, that's feasible. The sample-restriction string is now saved on
saving a session file -- that's in git, snapshots will follow.
