Hi, if I understand you correctly, in the "Add" menu some entries are greyed out and not clickable. For everything that involves a time dimension (lags, differences...) the likely cause is that your dataset is not declared as time series. Go to the "Data / dataset structure" menu to do that. What about the "squares" item in the Add menu? Since the ordering of cross-sectional data is arbitrary, transformations such as lags and differences are not meaningful.
