Greetings, from Kenosha, WI USA.
Last month, I wiped my Mac's hard drive and reinstalled the latest version of macOS,
which I do every year without incident.
Since then, whenever I run GRETL, macOS gives me a popup that says
The "otool" command requires the command line developer tools. Would you like
to install the tools now?"
There are two options: Cancel, and Install. I always click on Cancel and GRETL runs
just fine on my computer, as always.
Ah, we've been calling otool as a means of verifying the BLAS version
that gretl is using, but (a) we didn't realize that otool required the
command line developer tools, and (b) the check is in fact redundant
for a regular macOS gretl package. So the call to otool is now
removed, and new macOS snapshots will be posted later today. Sorry for
the annoyance!
