Hi,
Untill mid of january everything worked very good.
But now I have problems retrieving data by bundl (windows 10, Gretl
2018c or 2019a)
1.)Doing it for OECD data it is very slow (what was done within a minute
is done now in many long minutes)
2.) Doing it for BIS it does not work at all, error messages occurre:

Confirmed that your example script runs quite a long time (not sure if >
2min though, but that's still slow I think). Also Win 10 here, gretl 2019a.

Cannot confirm
the error with your script, it finishes OK here.
I can only speculate that the dbnomics server perhaps is a bit flaky?

Problem 2.) I did not got the error message again.

I will wait and
try to retrieve the data some days later and hope that
the server of dbnomics will run better then.
Nevertheless, is the a chance to run gretl with the old extension of
dbnomics? Just to test the possibilty that the new version might be also
a problem. The version I run now is from 2019-01-17

Interesting question. It seems the dbnomics v21 API is still
supported for now (though we don't know for how long). I've put a
compatible version of dbnomics.zip at
http://ricardo.ecn.wfu.edu/pub/gretl/dbnomics_v21/dbnomics.zip
and you can try it out if you wish.
One thing I've noticed: under the v21 API if you asked for actual
data you mostly got actual data, with only the necessary metadata.
Under the current v22 API you get a ton of metadata, whether you
want it or not. I can see that slowing downloads, and it also means
that our JSON parser has a lot more work to do in extracting what's
wanted from the copious stream received.
There was a comment on this on the dbnomics forum
https://forum.db.nomics.world/t/dbnomics-api-v22-released/204/4
but nobody has made an issue of it. Perhaps we should raise the
subject again.

thank you very much. Hopefully I installed it right. I just have
overwritten the new gnf-file (APi v22) with the old ( API v21?
But now I have the same problem which I raised already in Dezember last
year. There must be an newer one of v21 than you send to me. After my
posting you had rewritten the API v21 at the 11th of Dezember 2018 and
everything worked well with this version.
Can you giv me the downloadlink to this particular version that I can
try again?

The file at
http://ricardo.ecn.wfu.edu/pub/gretl/dbnomics_v21/dbnomics.zip
is in fact the December 12 version using the v21 API (although the
data recorded in the gfn file is lagging). It contains the necessary
"v21" element in the dbnomics URL.
I've run your OECD and BIS test script using this version with mixed
results: one minute it works fine, on the next invocation I get
"Internal Server Error"! This looks like flakiness at the dbnomics
end.

As you sugested I raised again the the problem with getting transferred
to many data by using v22.
Meanwile the team of dbnomics have changed the api a with a limitation
for metadata as you can see in the forum

As I understand this matter to use this limitation in gretl the
extension for dbnomics must be changed?
Can you have a look to this?
