When gretl 2021b is released (should happen this week), the releases will be
named:
Intel: gretl-2021b-macos-intel.pkg
M1: gretl-2021b-macos-m1.pkg
and so on in future. The "intel" versions should work with macOS 10.6 and
higher. M1 versions require macOS 11 or higher.
Ah, we now hear that Apple may release an "M2" processor later this
year, so we've decided to replace the "m1" designation with
"arm64",
a more generic identifer for the new Apple CPU-type. The release
packages will now be called:
gretl-2021b-macos-intel.pkg
gretl-2021b-macos-arm64.pkg
They're not out yet but will be early next week.
