Hello Claudio. Are you working with Windows? I don´t have Eviews installed and gretl 1.9.90 works fine here when I load 'wf1' files (Windows 8.1).

I have installed the snapshot on Win 8 (8.1 I think, 32bit on 32bit) today, and while OLS works, I get an error dialog window when I try to estimate an ARCH model.

I've now tested too, using both the 32-bit Windows snapshot and the 64-bit version, on 64-bit Windows 8, in both English and German. I can't provoke any problem with GARCH (or anything else). Sven, your account of that "error dialog window" looks extremely odd, in that none of the messages have anything to do with GARCH estimation (and in fact they're probably all benign anyway). I think your installation must be borked. But if a delete-and-reinstall doesn't fix things, please post a screen shot of the response you're getting. Yes, I'm afraid your thread got hijacked! (Word to the wise: please don't do that.) Sorry, but could you remind us what version of gretl you are running (see /Help/About gretl) and on what platform? The problem you described sounded strange to me (something about a libxml2 DLL being missing?). Libxml2 is supplied in the gretl package, and moreover is it not needed for importing Eviews data, which is certainly not in XML format (we wish!). It might be helpful if you you send us (or send me, off-list) a screenshot of the error condition. Just let me add: I checked importing several eviews files I had around and found no (new) problems. So I guessed from your message that your win installation was somehow broken and I got a little carried away.

I will check the suggestions and I thank you for the attention. What is strange is that it always associated the eviews's with gretl and I thought it was a normal function from gretl. It was always associated through the versions.

Anyway, I will check and if it's ok, I tell you in this list.
