Executive summary: if you're running gretl 2018c (just on Windows?
not sure) and want to access current dbnomics, please go to
"/Help/Check for addons", look for the dbnomics 0.2 update and
install it. If that doesn't work for you, please let us know.

Actually, Klaus gave us a mostly English error message in his first
posting on this topic:
Fehlermeldung von dbn_get_json():
SSL peer certificate or SSH remote key was not OK
*** error in function dbnomics_providers, line 4
err = dbn_get_json("providers", verbose, &json)
"Fehlermeldung" ~= "Error message".
Since I guess Klaus is running Windows I tried accessing dbnomics on
Windows 10, using the current snapshot: no problem. But then I tried
using the gretl 2018c release for Windows and got the same error
that Klaus saw.
So it appears that some change in our dbnomics code since the 2018c
release has protected us against that error. The only change I can
think of is revising the detail of the dbnomics URL we call (adding
the API version number). I didn't think this change was important
(yet), but maybe it is.
Anyway, there's now an updated version (0.2) of the dbnomics addon
on sourceforge, and you can install it by going to the item
"Check for addons" under the Help menu in the gretl main window.
I guess this should fix the problem.

to find a solution to this problem. Yes, I use Windows 10!
Unfortunately I`m so inexperieced to find the update for dbnomics on the
main site of gretl. Do you have a direct link? And how do I install it?

just click on help, then navigate to check for *addons*
*simply right click and click install dbnomics.*
*after installing the addon, restart the program and dbnomics should work
fine.*
*i just tried the procedure and realize all works fine at the moment.*

You don't have to go to the website. I'm talking about the item
