Cross correlogram
by "Juan C. Estévez"
Dear colleagues,
I can´t do a cross-correlogram with gretl 1.9.14 on windows XP SP3 in my
laptop nor with gretl 1.9.90 on Windows 8.1 in my PC, selecting two
variables and right-clicking the mouse.
This is the warning (Galician language) in my PC:
Should I change any directory in Tools->Preferences? I don´t see where...
Thanks

German Umlaute in menus messed up
by Sven Schreiber
Hi,
just installed the latest release on Windows and I'm noticing that the
(all?) Umlaute in the interface translation appear as garbage. I'm
afraid something went wrong with the updated de.po file I sent to Allin
this time instead of committing it myself to cvs.
Is this also happening on Linux?
thanks,
sven

Bug: cannot compile 1.9.90, succeeded with CVS
by Andreï | Андрей Викторович
Dear Allin and Riccardo,
Today I tried to compile the official stable version of gretl 1.9.90 that
is available at
http://prdownloads.sourceforge.net/gretl/gretl-1.9.90.tar.xzand
encountered the following bug: the ./configure script fails to exit
correctly due to the following error:
config.status: error: cannot find input file: `doc/commands/Makefile.in'
This was confirmed under Ubuntu 14.04 and Debian Jessie on systems that
managed to compile 1.9.15 without any hindrance. However, the CVS version
(1.9.91) configures, builds and installs perfectly. Please find the reports
in the attached file. Is it just my systems, or does the stable version
contain contain a chunk of improper code?

Gretl site translation—now in Russian
by Andreï | Андрей Викторович
Dear Allin and Riccardo,
I was so impressed by Allin’s essay in Russian (that is published on his
website) that I decided to make a translation of the project home page into
Russian.
Please accept the attached HTML page and feel free to implement it on the
website.
P.S. Those menacing escaped HTML codes are nothing else than professional
fine spacing and dashes.
P.P.S. Fed it into a spellchecker, cleansed of misprints, so should be
quite misprint-free.

A misprint in primer
by Andreï | Андрей Викторович
Dear developers,
This morning I compiled gretl from CVS and found a typo in the hansl
primer, section 4.2: Matrix Operations. Oddly enough, the matrix called
*pina* does not produce en error since matrix *a* is 2×2, c=a' is 2×2, and
pina=c+a can be generated from conformable matrices. Maybe you should
change it to pina=b+c in order to demonstrate the non-conformability of a
sum?
