Dear Gretl Team,
Recently I convinced my organization (the largest Brazilian bank) to
replace EViews by Gretl.
Sounds great, although I must confess I'm a little surprised. From the
banks and applied institutes that I know something about, I know they
value Eviews' "model" feature with automatic scenario simulation and
such. AFAICS in gretl this would have to be done via scripting. (Let's
not start a discussion whether that's better or not...)
So I would like to request you to allow multiple selection on Gretl's
built-in spreadsheet in order to copy, cut, and paste data just like
Gnumeric, Excel, and others do. Is this possible?
I think this is a valid request, because updating a datafile with one
new period's observations (one row of data) should probably not require
creating a temp file for the appending process. (That is, if my
assumption is correct that due to the common GTK foundation of Gnumeric
and gretl it should be relatively straightforward to implement for the
gretl wizards. Obviously I'm not the coder though.)
cheers,
