Maybe:
"Aviso: a Jacobiana tem característica < min(n.º linhas, n.º colunas)"
which can be translated as
"Warning: the Jacobian has rank < min(n.rows, n.columns)"
Maybe it's a good time to remind all translators (and other interested
parties) of the international statistical glossary by ISI:

For Portuguese the suggested translation of "rank" is "posto"
(
http://isi.cbs.nl/glossary/term2727.htm), which I found a little
surprising, but I only speak Spanish.
In German we would talk about the absence of full rank, so in case
Portuguese does it in similar ways perhaps something like "não tem posto
completo" ?
