[Gretl-devel] gui arima crash

Hi, during teaching sessions I experienced some crashes (freezes, lockups, infinite loops, whatever) when trying to specify ARIMA models using the wrong syntax in the GUI. Namely, when specifying the first and third AR lags as '1;3' or '{1 3}' in the text field (without enclosing quotes), gretl apparently crashes. I am now aware that both variants are wrong, but nevertheless gretl shouldn't crash. And a minor thing, when I tried '1, 3' gretl just ignored and didn't include the third lag. I think that was with the comma being set as the decimal separator in gretl. All in all, I guess some more parsing checks of those input fields wouldn't hurt. But apart from that I really liked the ARIMA GUI interface (I haven't seen it before because I usually don't do ARIMA). thanks, sven
