I can make suggestions if you like, but I'm mostly just bothered by
the 2. What about "1"? We have "randgen" and "randgen1"
functions.
But in randgen1 the "1" has a real meaning, namely producing just one
number.
The "2" in coint2 or in eiggen2 ist just historical path-dependence.
With eiggen2 it's actually worse in some sense, because there never was
an eiggen function ('eigengen' instead).
Matlab' 'eig' of course is an overloaded function with several gretl
analogues, so that might be confusing as well. Perhaps simply use
'eigen'?

Given that (a) we have 'eigensym' (b) 'eigengen' seems it will go away
=> then 'eigen' seems more appropriate. I agree on that!
