Read: should be removed from the package list! Its instructional value is the reason why we kept it long after the same functionality had been made native. Since we plan to add tags to packages, I guess this is one of the cases when we could use the tag "instructional", meaning that the package itself is more intended for teaching a particular statistical technique and/or hansl scripting, rather than for serious number crunching. The same may apply to the growth rate package or similar small projects.
