Ah, that's because none of these are currently valid options (though some may
still be acted upon for backward compatibility).
For "var", the option is --impulse-responses (with 's' on the end).
For "gnuplot" all those options were replaced a long time ago by a single
option-plus-parameter: --fit=<whatever>.
