Another thought on this. At first I built the gretl packages using
Fink on OS X. Later I switched to cross-building on Linux which is
much more convenient for me, but I see that Fink is still
maintained, and is available for OS X 10.8.2.
The Fink option may be worth considering. It gives you a Linux-like
mechanism -- just d/l the "devel" packages for all the gretl
dependencies then configure/make/make install. It's not so easy to
make an "App" package that way, but it's fairly straightforward to
get a working build from CVS for your own use.
