I saw that comment, but I wouldn't know what the format YYYY:MM
means with annual data. Taking the year 2020 for example, would
the proper format be 2020:00 or 2020:01 or 2020:1 or ... ?
In the YYYY:MM format the monthly component runs from 01 to 12.
You're being invited to utilize a higher resolution in the time
dimension. Even when plotting annual data, you may happen to to know
that a certain state or episode started or ended (say) half way
through a year.
