I apparently didn't have the addon SVAR. I did Help/Check
for addons and successfully installed it.
That's good to hear.
But for example I don't have function file moran installed.
(Files, Function files, On server) When I click install I
get the message "Couldn't find moran for gretl 1.9.7".
I just tried that one here and it installed OK. I'll have to
try on OS X.
I should perhaps explain the "1.9.7" business: if you're
running gretl M.N.P-cvs then when you try to d/l an addon
gretl sends a version number of M.N.P+1 to the server. This
allows addon writers who want to make use of a new-in-CVS
feature to give their package a "minver" equal to the next
release.
But this shouldn't apply at all to moran.gfn, which is a
regular function package and not an addon. Hmm. I'll look into
it.
