Thanks for the investigation, Allin. Maybe another reason to try
building directly on Windows in the medium term?
Not really -- I didn't state the case very clearly. It's not
cross-compilation as such that's the problem with recent GLib. You can
get the latest and greatest oven-ready for cross-mingw64, though I
build the GTK stack myself. Rather, it's preserving compatibility for
old Windows and avoiding bloat (newly added features for which we have
no need).
