potentially dumb question: What are the advantages of building gretl myself instead of
using the Windows version?

Sorry for the lack of response, Allin, this is great news. (OK, we kind of knew that it
was coming, but still.)
I think this could also be something for the Twitter feed, because one of the strong
points of gretl is the cross-platform aspect (compared to Eviews for example). But maybe
only after somebody other than Allin has tested the build on Windows.
