BTW, I noticed that the save-to-icon apparatus (like "test <- plot y...")
makes the --output=display option meaningless (nothing happens on the display
here). Is this actually so obvious? I mean conceptually you can save the icon
and at the same time display the result, no?
Agreed, --output=display and saving to a named GUI object ought to
be orthogonal. I'll take a look at that.
