The point remains that things _could_ get strange with very small
sample
sizes and discrete data, but that may not be the case in Ignacio's data.

I had some such issues with discrete data in the past. Because Boxplots are a visual
thing, it would help to simply add some random noise to each data-point (e.g.
10^-5*median, or some more stable heuristic). Perhaps with a --discrete-save flag or such?
I'd use such an option ;)
