Yeah I was going to ask about Octave, too, since it isn't clear to me if
there really is a spec about its datafile extension.
Octave and JMulTi are potential problems. (BTW, is there still a case for
handling JMulTi data?).
Could the extra dialog be avoided by another selection item in the file
open dialog? (Greyed out if not needed.) IMHO that would be better than
multiple windows popping up one after another, but that's (a) my taste
and (b) not sure if it's feasible.
It's technically feasible but IMO it would be "fussy", given that we're
talking about a corner case. In general, yes, an integrated dialog is
nicer than a sequence of dialogs but I think a second dialog is justified
in this case.
