I removed gretl completely (something that I rarely do...) before installing
the latest snapshot. I then did the same things that I posted in this thread,
and took extra care to be "exact". When I click the gears icon nothing at all
happens. When I close the plotting commands window (after saving) and
double-click the icon, I get the error window with "unspecified error" as
before.
This is on Windows 10 64bit. I can try on Windows 7, or try catching some
debug output from gretl. I'll report back... but if you have some other ideas
in the meantime, they're welcome.
I just tested on Windows 8, and I see what you mean: no response from
the "gears" button after making that change to the plot. Since I can
replicate the problem I should be able to figure out what's going on.
(It's funny that this works OK on Linux, but the gnuplot versions
differ slightly.)
