What version of Adobe Reader, please? Getting DDE to work is quite tricky,
particularly since Adobe writes the wrong identifier for its DDE "server" into
the Windows registry -- so finding the right identifier is a matter of informed
guesswork. I've tested with Reader DC 2015 on Windows 8 and that works for
updating the read location.
