Gretl recognizes daily dates given as:
DD-MM-YYYY (e.g. 01-12-2007)
MM-DD-YYYY (e.g. 12-01-2007)
YYYY-MM-DD (e.g. 2007-12-01, the ISO standard)
and some variations on these (e.g. using "/" instead of "-").
It also accepts two-digit years (ambiguous as to century) up to a
point. But it is not trained to recognize d-Mon-YY.
