I have a suggestion that, in my humble opinion, could at least partially
help to finish this issue: What do you think about the inclusion of warning
messages in the GUI context when the user tries to use commas instead of
dots?
I think that's a good idea. If we can isolate the specific error
when "genr" comes across an unexpected comma and print a suitable
informative message, instead of just "syntax error", that would help
matters.
