OK. The icon you're seeing for "network" is different from the one I'm
seeing, which is not a problem in itself. However, if the icon is
"greyed out" yet it's clickable, that's a bug in the icon theme. A
greyed out icon should be insensitive; a clickable icon should not be
shown as greyed out. In gretl that particular icon is always
clickable.
Well, at least on "stock" Ubuntu as well as on Fedora these icon
problems do not seem to exist. I guess those are the little things where
more experimental distros (or its variants) are simply not as mature.
