Related to the pdf user guide on Windows, I think when repeatedly installing
new snapshots (and releases?) the pdf doesn't get updated, or perhaps it gets
updated only in some but not all storage locations. So I've acquired the
habit to delete the pdf file manually every once in a while, then gretl
downloads the current one from the internet.
This problem might become more relevant when there are direct links that
assume the current version.
Anyway, this doesn't seem to work on my MATE laptop. I've tried evince,
atril and okular, to no avail. stderr gives no debugging messages except
for
pdf help: looking for gretl-guide-a4.pdf
In all three case, the guide opens, but not at the indicated chapter.
Sorry I don't have time today to pursue this any further.
