this should be ok, because the BBK01 is a generic prefix used for
various different time series across multiple statistics.
Using the key from dbnomics, you should be able to find the same time
series key also in the Bundesbank time series database.
For example:
https://db.nomics.world/BUBA/BBK01/AU1734
should be equivalent to this series
https://www.bundesbank.de/dynamic/action/en/statistics/time-series-databa...
Currently, when creating new time series codes, we (the Bundesbank)
normally follows the SDMX standard.
If you find that some of the data is not available, please just get back
to me.
Thanks Johannes, let me also give an example, but where the problem is
the other way around apparently (i.e., gretl is on the working end of
affairs).
Specifically, I'm talking about net financial wealth (Nettogeldvermögen)
of (German) private households in the old ESA95 system.
Here's the place on the Bundesbank website to where I have clicked my
way through the database jungle:
https://www.bundesbank.de/dynamic/action/de/statistiken/zeitreihen-datenb...
The funny thing is, I get no data displayed and an error saying "Die
Zeitreihe ist nicht gültig oder nicht verfügbar." (Invalid or not
available.)
However, now with the updated dbnomics 0.43 in gretl I am able to access
BUBA/BBK01/CE3K0I alright, with data from 1991Q1 through 2014Q4, as it
should.
What's the point here? Well, two things:
- The Bundesbank dataset Finanzierungsrechnung (financial flows) does
not seem to live in dbnomics directly (or does it?). Instead one has to
go to the catch-all BBK01 and know the code from other sources. Then it
works fine, though.
- The Bundesbank web page data access has some gaps which do not seem
intended.
thanks
