Will the new one go into effect later?
To get the new-style output, run gretl with the environment
variable COMPACT_MIDDLE defined, as in
COMPACT_MIDDLE=1 gretl
(or "export COMPACT_MIDDLE=1" then run gretl)
Since there seems to be a consensus in favour of the compact
version, we'll make that the default once we've sorted out
exactly what it should look like.
