I guess the join GUI can't have been used much on Windows to date, or
we'd have heard about this problem months ago.
Certainly can't have been used much, but I suspect that bugs like this
do get noticed by some people that then can't be bothered to report
them. (I'm not necessarily blaming them, I know it's an effort to find
out whom to contact or where to file the report.)
