It is, and I like it, so thumbs up from me. One thing that has just
occurred to me is: in the context of the "Export" window it would be
nice to have an "Append/Overwrite" option. The ability to add one or two
series to an existing dataset in one go would be definitely useful in
some contexts. I don't mean to push it, I'd just like to hear you lot's
opinion on this while we're on the subject.
While we're at the subject of discussing this interface stuff, let me
just point out that in Eviews you can drag-and-drop a series across
workfiles (in Eviews you can have multiple workfiles open in one
instance, but I think it even works across instances, though I'm not
sure about the latter).
I don't mean to push this since it's not really necessary and my
impression is that GUI programming isn't the most fun. But it seems this
is the kind of functionality that jack is suggesting.
Apart from that I think I need to read up on what gretl's databases
really are and what they can do. (Because I have the vague feeling we're
moving towards blurring the distinction between the two.)
cheers,
