OK, after make and make install I now have something under opt/gretl/bin
(relative to the msys64 base directory). Namely I can double-click
gretlrun.cmd to start GUI gretl (in English, presumably the MinGW default
language). It shows today's date, so it seems not to be my previous,
downloaded, snapshot.
I cannot directly click gretl.exe or gretl.exe, that gives an error dialog
window.
Clicking directly on the gretl binaries will work if you add your
mingw64 "bin" directory to your Windows PATH, not otherwise. Please
take a look at section 5 of the gretl-winbuild guide (the bit on the
making a shortcut).
