There's something experimental in current CVS and snapshots. In a
gretl plot window, you can enlarge or shrink the plot by pressing
the "+" and "-" keys respectively (on the regular keyboard, not the
number pad at present). For this to work you need gnuplot with the
pngcairo driver (present in the Windows and Mac packages, and also
should be present on modern Linux).
Right now there are 4 fixed scales: 0.8, 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 (with 1.0
the default).
If this works in a reasonably wide range of circumstances we can
think about enhancing it, and giving a choice of the default scale
for plots.

Dear Allin,
This is really a very nice (and useful) feature. I have some small
suggestions to improve it. This function is a very common feature in
Internet browsers like Firefox, Safari and Chrome. In all of them (Mac
versions!) the "zoom function" is activated by pressing "Command" +
"+" (to
increase), "Command" + "-" (to decrease) and "Command" +
"0" (to restore
the original size). On Windows just replace "Command" for "Ctrl".
Just for curiosity, I checked the maximum levels of each navigator:
Firefox
max increase: 8
min increase: 5
Safari
max increase: 7
min increase: 4
Chrome
max increase: 9
min increase: 6
I hope this helps ;-)
