Hi, I know this is very much in the nice-to-have-but-not-strictly-necessary category, but working with a cross-country panel where the country codes are in a string-valued series, I must say it would be nice if functions like instring() worked for those series. Instead I'm using a chain of direct equality comparisons, which works fine, but gets a bit tedious. Probably material for a request ticket. cheers sven
