I wanted to add a new function to a function package of mine (under Windows/GUI), and I can open the dialog (the one with the arrow buttons) and can move the new function over to the right allright. But when I click save (or apply?) there seems to be no effect, the function does not appear in any drop-down or other list of included functions.

Please describe exactly how you opened the > package for editing, and tell us whether there's more than one copy of > the package on your system, and if so where the copies are. Ahh, I guess the multiple copies might indeed be the cause. I have had other issues related to that as well. (Overridden/redefined functions obviously still being accessed and so forth.) It's not easy to document the behavior, though, and really not that important if it doesn't occur in other circumstances. So I'll just move to packaging in a less GUIish way I think.
